Aklilu Mulushewa
Aklilu has been a regular user of Sunshine library for over 15 years. When Aklilu arrived in Australia, it wasn’t easy for him as he had limited English language skills. Since joining the library, Aklilu has been able to access many learning opportunities to help him achieve his goals. He attended the library’s resume help sessions and also benefited from other eHelp and digital literacy sessions that contributed to his successful learning journey.
Aklilu is passionate about lifelong learning and is currently studying a Certificate IV in Disability. In the future he would love to learn management skills for his personal and professional development.
Whenever Aklilu needed assistance with online application forms, the library staff were able to help with the steps required.
The most challenging experience and most rewarding experience for Aklilu was overcoming the language barriers experienced when he arrived in Australia. He is mindful of continually improving his understanding of the English language and doing so will allow him to continue studying and obtaining certificates to achieve his career goals and improve his life.
